Infomart Portland is setting a new standard for industry-leading sustainability through renewable energy use. As a Direct Access customer, Infomart chooses the energy mix and suppliers for our Portland data center, while still remaining a power distribution service customer of Portland General Electric. Our decision to source electricity from Bonneville Power Administration enables us to achieve a 96% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions when compared to the national utility average, and provide our customers with low-carbon power at rates below the local utility tariffs.

Paul Vaccaro

SVP Operations and Engineering

Paul Vaccaro is the Senior Vice President of Operations and Engineering for Infomart Data Centers. Paul is a 30 year IT Professional, and has spent the past 10 years working in the Mission Critical Facilities and Data Center Industry as an Enterprise Operator, and Data Center Engineer. Paul’s previous role was working for Intel Corporation, where he managed Data Center Operation activities around the globe. Vaccaro has co-authored several white papers on important industry topics such as: 1,100 wpsf High Density Data Center Design, High Efficiency Data Center Design and Retrofits Best Practices, Data Center Infrastructure Management Best Practices, and Data Center Site Selection Criteria.  Paul supported Intel’s’ Internal customer groups from Silicon Design, Manufacturing, and Enterprise IT on cost and energy efficient requirements, facility design, deployment, and sustaining operations of Intel’s global data centers. Paul has extensive experience traveling both nationally and internationally, speaking at conferences, and supporting Data Center Best practices engagements for top multi-national corporations.

Western Regional VP of Sales

Jim joined Infomart Data Centers in 2015 to lead its sales and marketing efforts for its Portland and Silicon Valley facilities. He has a 25-year successful track record of corporate management in the technology and enterprise software development sector, most recently spending six years as VP of Sales for ViaWest. Jim is a passionate technology leader with a long history of creating strategy, building high-performance teams, and serving as an advocate for his community. He currently serves as the Founding President and Board Chair of the Oregon and SW Washington Chapter of the 7×24 Exchange.

Doug Shotwell

Solutions Architect

Doug has over 14 years of engineering and construction management experience. Prior to Infomart, Doug worked for Rosendin Electric, where he managed multiple construction projects, including Data Center construction. Doug has managed Data Center Construction from the Design/Development stages to the Final Commissioning & Turn Overs stages. Doug has worked with various trade disciplines to coordinate and resolve technical issues for projects and he has been directly responsible for implementing Commissioning & Quality Assurance plans for a number of projects. Doug has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University.

Casey Vanderbeek

Director–Customer Technical Solutions

Casey joined Infomart Data Centers in 2016 to build out Infomart’s solution design and implementation disciplines. He is an expert in understanding customer requirements and being able to identify a solution to meet their needs. Casey has a 20-year history in supporting, planning and managing information technology initiatives.  Immediately before  joining Infomart Casey spent 10-years with ViaWest where he was instrumental in building the Oregon market and was the lead solution engineer for the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.   His experiences in managing IT Teams and corporate data center initiatives has given Casey the ability to address the real-world concerns of Infomart’s customers.  Casey has a BA in Business Management from the University of New Mexico. 

 

Larry Scharp

Chief Engineer

Larry has spent 18 years in Data Centers and Operations. Larry began working at Infomart Silicon Valley in 2008 where he remained until he became involved with all aspects of the design and build process of Infomart Portland. As the Chief Engineer of Infomart Portland, he leads a skilled crew of engineers in all aspects of mission-critical electrical/mechanical data center operations. Larry has earned many certifications including Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP), Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM) and is currently seeking Certification in Telecommunications Project Manager (CTPM). He worked as a mechanical technician in the U.S. Army, tank division, Fort Knox Kentucky and attended college at CSUS and National College.
